AfterTaste: The Everlasting Flavour

In our first article about AfterTaste, we learnt about the problems we needed to solve. The following are some of the measures we took.

Due to the recent pandemic, AfterTaste has had to change its ways much like several other enterprises. This crisis is undoubtedly going to play a pivotal role in the social sector and our actions moving forward. 

Before the coronavirus outbreak AfterTaste used to perform in person sales. They used exhibitions as one of the main strategies for customer acquisition. All the women of AfterTaste used to work together, learning as well as growing with each other. Now, due to the pandemic they had to completely shift to online means of transactions. Mostly the inventory they already have are being sold. This is due to the slums in Mumbai they reside in, are in a very bad condition. Now they are trying to spread awareness with the help of social media and are trying to acquire customers online.

We at WoEmpower believe that women have the potential to do anything they set mind to do, so we are trying to help this women led small scale business as much as we can, so that they stay motivated even during these tough times and keep making their handcrafted products. Coming up with digital strategies and marketing messages are some of the ways we have supported these women. You can find some of the works we have designed for them below. 

Working with AfterTaste was an absolute pleasure. The thought about how even a small contribution could bring a smile on the face of a woman in Mumbai, brought happiness to me. In the future, we would like to keep helping AfterTaste through by helping them to design various products the customers will be willing to buy and by organising various crowdfunding campaigns.
