From the founder of Memo.roids -
“I am Shivangi, an almost 17 year old from Kolkata. For a long time, I was going through stuff which made me feel demotivated, with a lack of purpose. I felt as though I had nothing to look forward to. With all the deaths, destruction during the covid-19 pandemic, losing people around me, I could not help but live in fear, grief most of the time. One fine morning, I came up with an idea to start a small business. A one where I sell customised prints on Polaroid film. I didn't really think it would take off, but it did. Slowly, and steadily. I am now at a stage where I am willing to expand my business , adding things such as customised frames, decorations. All of this came to me on a random Wednesday morning. I also want to give back, so much. Once my business is in a much more stable state, financially, I want to go ahead and donate to charity. I believe that when people have the power to give back, they should. And I will. As an individual I do, but now as my organisation too. We as people hold immense power in our hands. To help, to build. And women? Well. They happen to be strongest creatures on our planet. Starting from my mother to our next door neighbor, to my 7 year old sister To endure so much and to do so much altogether is an ability I would never be able to comprehend. When I started this business, I received bundles of support from women across the country I didn't even know. It made me realise how supportive and strong women are of eachother and how much love and strength they store in them. At this point in my business, my main motive is to grow and to be happy with what I do. To not indulge much, but to also be a determined, strong and confident soul. I believe, and I will continue to believe in myself. I hope I can expand and bring happiness to people's lives, including my own.”
